In an effort to save lives and lessen the euthanasia impact in our county, A HOPE provides a rehabilitation and lifesaving program. Animals in this program are pulled from Santa Rosa County Animal Services and are usually too young or too sick to survive in a shelter environment. A HOPE takes these vulnerable cats or dogs and places them into a rehabilitation environment until they are eligible for either rescue or adoption. While most rehabilitated animals are placed in a rescue, others stay to be adopted out through us. All adoptables include spay/neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations.
Scroll down to see the list of animals in our program. If you are interested in any, please click on their photo to see more information. If the "Apply for Adoption" link is not showing, please check back daily as we update their availability. Bios are added once we get to know them, but may not be added before they are spoken for.
Applications will open when meet & greets can be scheduled. Animals may not go home until they are fixed. We require a non-refundable fee to hold any animal. Hold fees go towards the final adoption price. Once an animal is ready to go home, you have 48 hours to pick them up. Fees and further information is also available below.
Our animals are raised in the comfort of foster homes. You must fill out an application to meet any animal. Once the application is accepted, an email will come through with further information. If you do not receive a follow-up email within 48 hours, please send an email to with your name and animal(s) interested in.
**Adoption applications are processed on a first come, first serve basis. Furthermore, animals will not be placed in adoptive homes until they are at least 8 weeks of age.**
All of our kittens use the following products:
*Kitten/puppy refers to animals under 6 months of age
**Specialty animals are labeled as such when you click on their picture
***"Special needs" means they have physical or mental extra needs which may or may not affect their daily lives
**No questions/messages will receive a response until the animal is open to accepting applications.**
