In an effort to save lives and lessen the euthanasia impact in our county, A HOPE provides a rehabilitation and lifesaving program. Animals in this program are pulled from Santa Rosa County Animal Services and are usually too young or too sick to survive in a shelter environment. A HOPE takes these vulnerable cats or dogs and places them into a rehabilitation environment until they are eligible for either rescue or adoption. While most rehabilitated animals are placed in a rescue, others stay to be adopted out through us. All adoptables include spay/neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations.
Scroll down to see the list of animals in our program. If you are interested in any, please click on their photo to see if an application is available. If the application is not available, please check back daily as we update their availability.
**No questions/messages will receive a response until the animal is open to accepting applications. Please follow our Facebook Page in order to see the progress of any particular animal.**
Our animals are only able to be met in person after their second round of vaccinations and/or once they are in good health. This means that no animal is able to be met until they are at least 6 weeks old. Animals may not go home until they are fixed. We require a $50, non-refundable fee to hold an animal at the time you meet them. If you cannot come meet the animal before their adoption available date, and you wish to hold them, you must pay the full adoption fee, non-refundable. Deposits go towards the final fee. Once an animal is ready to go home, you have 48 hours to pick them up. Fees and further information is also available below.
Our animals are raised in the comfort of foster homes. You must fill out an application to meet any animal. Once the application is accepted, an appointment time will be set up.
**Adoption applications are processed on a first come, first serve basis. Furthermore, animals will not be placed in adoptive homes until they are at least 8 weeks of age.**
*Kittens are under 6 months old
**Specialty animals are pure breeds
***"Special needs" means they have physical or mental extra needs which may or may not affect their daily lives
